Little Miss Fashionable!

It's Chichi all this month!
Chichi is Designer Maita's furry middle child. She loves carrots and traveling except the car ride. It's the destination she loves. Chichi doesn't often get along with other dogs. For the most part, she ignores them. She does interact with cats.
When going out, Chichi is often well behaved. She just has her diva days during photoshoot.

5 Tools for Effective Pet Parenting

1. A Competent Vet

First and foremost, you must have a vet you can go to when something is wrong. They must have your pet's complete medical history. They should be able to be reached if something were to happen. Write their number on your fridge, your diary and make sure they are on your phone.

2. A steady supply of bleach and detergent

Pets make a mess. That's inevitable. Make sure you stay clean at all times. It keeps everybody healthy.

3. Mommy Instincts

Sometimes, a vet won't even spot what's wrong until it's too late. There are times when we know something is wrong. We demand a blood test of a stool test to make sure something is not amiss. Oftentimes, this proves to be the case. It is called mommy instincts.

4. Patience of a Saint

Not all babies are born behaved. No pet is born behaved. They will try your patience and they will push the limits. It is up to you how you deal with crime and punishment.

 5. Gravy in the Ref

Never underestimate the power of gravy. When your pet is sick and they don't want to eat their meds, soak it in gravy and they gobble it up. Same gos if they don't have an appetite. Season their food in gravy. Need to lure them somewhere? Use gravy!

How much is that doggy in the window?

Is there a price for the unconditional love your pet could give you? How would you know they are "the one?"
For Chichi, it was not always the story of love at first sight. It was more of Love Comes Softly.

When Chichi was in Tiende, she was bought by a certain cousin. Being a little bit sick, she was taken to the vet immediately. She was diagnosed with severe malnutrition. So, her afternoon flight had to be cancelled. She was sent to Designer Maita to recuperate. Little Chichi was very fragile at first. She was even below a kilo. Efforts were taken to fatten her up to a full kilo of weight. She was always begging for attention, never wanting to be alone. She was dubbed "the Gremlin" because of her big eyes and big ears. Slowly, the family of Designer Maita took to liking the little teacup. She was very affectionate and would dig her way to your heart easily. She loves to go outside and say hi to the world. Little Chichi loves special events where she can meet other pets. She likes meeting tame cats. She was a permanent fixture in the house.
So it was finally decided that Chichi was there to stay for good. Dear cousin was called and told Chichi was here to stay in Manila. She was not going to Davao.
Chichi debuted at Pet Fashion and Trends Week October 2012. She has since modeled for Baby Moon Pawprints. Being little doesn't mean she's lost in the crowd. She is actually silent but cuddly.

Pet of the Month this March: Chichi

Chichi is a Teacup Apple head Chihuahua. She is sassy and sweet at the same time. Chichi was born on March 20, 2012. Originally named Derpina, she didn't take to the name. She did respond to Chichi and thus it became her name ever since. Chichi is actually a very fashionable pet. She likes to dress up. Being such a small dog, she was actually benefiting from clothing. When going out, she doesn't have a collar because everything is too big. She used to have a child's watchstrap as a collar before fellow dog Bambi ate it.
You can catch this Sassy Pet all this month!
