Dealing with Dog Depression

My baby Chichi gave birth last week. She gave birth to a healthy baby girl. Unfortunately, an accident befell and the baby died two days after. My baby Chichi couldn’t comprehend the death of her baby. We had to take the dead puppy away before she grew more attached. Now, she seems suffering loss. She didn’t want to get up. She just wants to lie down.

Now I find myself wondering how to deal with a depressed dog. So, I’m sticking by her side, watching over her while she sleeps. Between me, my sister and my yayas, we try to hand feed her. Dealing with a depressed dog is hard. She just wants to stay in the room and mope. The hard part of dealing with your dog is that you cannot understand her words. You cannot tell her your words either. Her actions and your actions is the only way you can communicate to her. At least she's asking for hugs and kisses.

You can’t really deal with it like you do in human children. You can only take baby steps to help your dog cope. Hopefully, one day, she can get up and deal with it. For now, let her know you are there for her no matter what.
